China Did Not Seek Court for Approval to Kill Coronavirus Patients

On 6th February 2020, AB-TC (City News) website ab-tc.com published an article with the same title as in story. The article opens with the paragraph saying the highest level of court in Chhina (note the spelling mistake), Supreme People’s Court, is expected to give an approval on Friday for the mass killing of Coronavirus patients in China. It reports the mass killing as a sure means of controlling the spread of the deadly virus.

The article goes on to describe Coronavirus victims will die for sure and the deadly virus will also affect other health workers and patients in the hospitals. Accordingly, China mentioned in a document saying sacrificing the lives of few affected patients will save health workers and a billion others as there is no hope in sight of the fight against the virus.

World Health Organization declared Coronavirus outbreak a global health emergency. Amidst the deadly outbreak and lack of treatment to cure Coronavirus, the article on AB-TC (City News) website garnered attention. Apart from some social media users, few online outlets also picked up the story, making it viral.

The article on AB-TC (City News) website published by a ‘local correspondent’ did not cite any credible source of information. The website does not carry any about or disclaimer information. Moreover, the website’s homepage carries some fake ‘Breaking news’ articles like deaths of New York Giants coach Pat Shurmur and South African celebrity couple Connie Ferguson and Shona Ferguson. Like the article suggests, there are no credible reports about China seeking court for approval to kill over 20,000 Coronavirus patients.

If China planned anything like it, there would be an outrage in media and public around the world. Human rights organizations will also come into picture. However, there are no such reports. So, all this concludes to saying the controversial claim in question is just a hoax. The story originated from a fake news article on AB-TC (City News) website.
